« DUTCH HEAVEN: Golden Chopsticks and Oriental City. How do you say "Thank you! Thank you! You saved my life!" in Chinese? | Main | Why Dutch espresso is so crap »

Maybe from the same people who say "if you don't like it go back home"?

A friend of mine, a fucking foreiger, got this note some time ago because he - I quote - "put the garbage at the wrong time". Uuuuuuuhhhhh

Well, it is better to 'put garbage at the wrong time' than to put it at the wrong place, isn't it? :-)

Greetings from a native Dutch person,
Yorien

At least they spelled in english good lol Don“t take things so personal, get to know your Dutch neighbors, find out what irritates them and try to live with them, better to make friends then have enemies. Good luck

They are completely right, because there are rules to put your garbage outside, so if you put in the wrong day, you make problems to your neighboors. That's why things here work! Pay attention man, and try to be integrated!

err, sorry to interrupt your mental trip to Fantasyland but:

- what "works" exactly? service?
- nobody said they were not right. But I don't usually start a nice letter with "Fucking foreiger".
There are also politeness rules, you know? Or would you be happy if I called you "fucking clovis"?

Now excusez-moi but I'off for lunch.
You know... it's when they put food in your bread.

yeah, except for the lovely "fucking foreigners" bit, I'd say they were spot on.

Now, if they'd just pick up the garbage more than once every two fucking weeks, I'd be happy.

My neighborhood in Haarlem smells to high-heaven in mid-august when it's been 12 days since the last pickup.

Hmmm...once I put our garbage out of the right day, but it wasn't picked up - so a neighbour decided to dump ALL the garbage from the building on our front door step! Leuk!
