Look- Even HE Wants It To Stop!
I think the simple answer to this question is: "Ummm- NO!" Every time I see this vid it's like- DUDE- WHAT are you DOING!?!?!? Apparently somebody forgot to tell him that disco was dead, and that he was never gonna get away with trying to impersonate Aretha Franklin. The song is full of effects and trashy 80s sounds. This thing with the mic can't sing and the chorus is sorta catchy but it's hard to believe ANYBODY would dance to this. I guess that's why the video producers felt the need to include the audience. They were probably actually at a U2 concert.
The "director of cinematography" isn't exactly doing a great job here either. I mean it's almost halfway through the performance that the spotlight actually shows up on the... person... thing... whatever IT is. He's giving the impression he's male but that limp wrist the whole time makes me wonder. Of course, he might be... oh I dunno.... GAY?!? Nah- that's just crazy talk.

ICON. IDOL. so fuck off.

Of COURSE the video is crappy, because the label that this album came out of was a modest record company. There wasn't the big budgets that later were infused into a few Sylvester music videos under Warner Brothers for example in which was a record label he later was was on.
Also, Sylvester was more than Disco, if you really LISTEN and know MUSIC genre's, you can hear in many of his songs a Gospel influence. Sylvester was one of the most amazing soulful R&B voices in the history of Rock N Roll.
But of course, people like you who are NOT in that world and are not OPEN to actually respecting real talent and musicianship, look at it from prejudice eyes.
From the outside and from many years ago, of course this looks awful to you. But to many Sylvester was the Queen.

I ain't gay but I love this kind of music. I think Patrick Cowley & Sylvester were both amazing, incredible, outstanding...must I continue? I wish these 2 were still alive so we could have some quality music again. Today's music is dreadful! Sylv and Pat - we love you. Gay people love you, hetero people love you, everyone loves you!!!! I hope you guys are ok in heaven!!

Nice comments from yet another homophobic retard. Hey moron, Sylvester is a gay pop-culture icon, and produced a prodigious musical output, of which only a tiny piece is "disco". You should hope to be even a FRACTION as successful as he was, in his all- too-short lifetime. Get your facts straight before posting your drivel in the public domain!

No I'm not gay, but I still do not agree with your rating.
I think this song has quite a good dance groove and it also did good in the dance clubs at that time.
