SO Cool- & The Gang!

This vid is ok. Just kinda standard, you know, watching the band members do their thang, although the first guy with the soul glow hairdo is a bit random. The lighting is terrible in general, it just doesn't seem like a very smooth production. At least we get to see who "Kool" and "his gang" are.
The song on the other hand is a classic and it's one that I remember from so long ago, one of the first songs I had every really enjoyed, PERIOD.
Here's another one of their classic songs, which I actually like more than this one.

Sooo, basically what we have here is Kate Bush doing her best 12-year-old-boy-with-bad-hair impersonation while staring admiringly at her vaguely creepy inventor “Daddy” (in a bizarre cameo by actor/father-of-Keifer, Donald Sutherland).
The story of the video goes something like this: Dear ol’ dad’s been working on a rather large cloudbusting machine used to…well…apparently it’s used to make rain, although why that’s so special is a tad unclear. Throw in some lyrics about glow-in-the-dark yo-yo’s and mix in a few images of menacing government agents destroying Daddy’s workshop, and you pretty much are left with the “what the fuck” feeling that is a Kate Bush-video trademark.

The Beginning Of A Legendary, Mumbled, Fumbled Career

"OOOOOOH! It hurts to have my old nose!" I don't know about you, but whatever Mr. No-Nose sings about, and whether it's his falsetto voice or his castralto, I don't understand about 50% of it. They must be some of the most famous songs in the world but do I know what the hell what he's talking about? No. Check out this entry of misheard lyrics: actual lyrics to "Bad": "But they say the sky's the limit"; misheard lyrics: "Disease of the eyes is the limit". I'm telling you, the guy, person, or whatever IT is, the freak can't speak.
Now, the song IS done in a very castralto voice (meaning it sounds like his nuts got cut off), but somehow it DOES seem to work. It is a truly classic song, and while you may have heard it several times in a fast food restaurant or some other cheesy place, it is not as cheesy as a lot of other music they usually play in those places. I really like the album "Off The Wall" from which this comes. The tracks, "I Can't Help It" (here's Stevie Wonder's version) and "It's the Falling in Love" are two mostly unheard classics and deserve a good listen.

Typo? It's Really The GaY Band?

Boy, they sure don't make 'em like they used to... and for good reason! There are so many homoerotic moments in this vid, and if you watch for them you'll see what I mean. Sure, there are are bits thrown in of girls in bikini's, but that's just to throw you off the scent... of lavender scented hair products. George Michael and Michael Jackson did things like that all the time. Pfff- yeah, I mean you know they dress like that cause they're really just a black version of The Village People. There is this one part in particular where these muscleheads appear to be gawking and pointing at some skanky ho's, and yet it is revealed in the last shot of that part that it was actually a group of guys... wearing leather biker caps, no less. Yes, I definitely figured that the first review on trashfan.com in the new year should definitely be a trashy one.
The song, I must admit, is a great song. I just love the progression, that melody/beat that goes "da da da DA" and even by the end you feel like you don't want it to stop. Typical of soul, this is often the case. I love their other songs "Yearning For Your Love" and "Outstanding", I also believe they had another track called "Big Fun" which is also excellent. Stay tuned in the future for more videos for this, um, "special" band.
