Glory Hole Days

That one guitar player (the gypsy-looking dude) is really kinda scary. He looks like the king of an ultimate sleaze fest. He just oozes... or excretes this nasty gunk stuff all over the place, I'll call it sleaziness for lack of a better term. The baseball references in the video are about how when you get older you have a kind of golden period that you look back on, and you miss it. Ok, whatever. I guess a song has to have SOMETHING for a subject matter and that's good enough. It just doesn't move me much. Maybe I'm just a little too comfortable on this couch.
This song is ultra catchy, though. Anybody growing up in the 80s would have appreciated it. It's got a good 80s sound, but it's also got Springsteen's husky voice and folkish style. It's just a plain good song, no messing around, this is when Springsteen seemed to say, "Pop or underground, folk or Rock, let's just make good music that everybody can enjoy." I think he did a pretty good job here. A friend of mine adores Springsteen, and testifies that he's not like a stuck-up star at all, he's very down-to-Earth and he really appreciates his fans. If you go to one of his concerts, I'm sure you'll find the same.

... and the hot red head on the tambourine is the current Mrs. Springsteen; while the girl at the end of the video that blows the car horn is the 'first' Mrs. Springsteen.

There's a lot to this video.

That's Steven Van Zandt...who "grew up" and became Sylvio on The Sopranos! Love, love, love Brucie!!!
