When He Says He's Lonely- He MEANS It

When this song starts you're immediately in to it. It's got such a dynamic feel to it that just draws you in like a magnet. The tickling little guitar keeps things going and there's these weird synth sounds that add to the clean atmosphere. The lead singer's vocals are just gritty enough and have just enough sex appeal. Who know why the poor guy committed suicide, when he had so much going for him and he's obviously one of the hip crowd- not fat, not a geek or anything else negative. It just goes to show we all have our tough times and our bad days. Friends of his have said this was just a low point for him and it's an understatement, but it's just a shame the suicide was more than an attempt and actually killed him. Although, whether the suicide was intentional or an accident is still only speculative.
In 2005, the band participated in the reality show Rock Star: INXS, where they found a new lead singer to take Michael Hutchence's place.
This was a great band in its day and their album "Kick" is truly a classic. The video showcases the band in a unique way with its play on black and white and cut-out band members looking a bit like paper dolls. Aside from that, there's not too much to say about it, but the video did the job which was to showcase the band and the song.

This video is the biggest crock of shite I've ever seen in my entire life. The Noseless Wonder has probably never even seen a liberian girl in HIS entire life! Instead of making a video, he should have gotten a brain and, yes, gotten a life! So he can buy all these Hollywood people and put them in a video- this is the whole reason the damn freak is bankrupt. He's so dumb that of course he spends way more money than he actually made. It's so like the idiot that he completely overestimated his financial status- we should have all seen it coming from twenty years before. His own amusement park- yeah, that'll pay the bills.
What's with the repeated "Onomatopoeia?" I never really got the song, it's so slow and tedious. The meaning is not clear (since Mr. Freak would never actually love a woman) and it doesn't make you want to dance or get excited or anything. He (it) definitely has better songs.
I like some of the people in the video, there's George Jefferson, Chrissy from Three's Company, Whoopi, even my personal favorite, Whitley Gilbert from A Different World... and so on- but I don't go out and buy them. It wouldn't be a good financial move, not for me or even a millionaire. Anyway, what are they all supposed to be rehearsing for?

Sir LAME-A-Lot

Apparently, he wants to give you his banana. Well alrighty then. He's an ancient ruin, but if he wants to unpeel his old fruit I say let him do what he wants while he's still alive. I can't believe he was recently knighted. It's as unbelievable as Cliff Richards being knighted. What's coming to the world, I wonder? He has old women throw their extremely large underwear at him- and THAT'S worthy of knighthood? No rescuing a damsel from a dragon, no fighting the taliban or helping people being traumatized by a tsunami, just wearing sunglasses and acting like a pimp.
The song is great and the sounds are kinda nice, but there's not much good added to it that Prince's original version already has. He couldn't even sing the falsetto part that's the crux of the song. It makes me appreciate Prince more. I do like the video "noise" and art of the background, but it's just ok, not brilliant, and I DON'T appreciate his smug-ass face with his smug-ass sunglasses. I'm sorry, but even with the banana and the close up on his crotch it's just not good enough for me to even call it trash. It's just plain regrettable and a basic waste of time.

This guy is a real freak. No, freak isn't the right word. I'm looking in the thesaurus- maybe weirdo is the right word I'm looking for. He's confused he says. I'll bet he's confused- he wants to be in jail, that's called confusion of sexual preference. I'll bet he'd love to be confused and trapped with a bunch of big, bad boys. What's up with "Colonel" and his costume? It's confusing. And I'm SO confused about the mustache I feel trapped. Actually that's his real given name which makes me feel sorry for him but at the same time makes me sick. Check out the people just doing nothing but diggin' his song. They're so well paid. The smiles are so fake!
This is such a copy of Alexander O'Neal's "Criticize" it's ridiculous. It's got some different elements, but he really stole a little too much. Somebody should really lock him up and throw away the key. That being said, I kinda like the song. It's just cheesy and stupid, perfect for this site.

Marc Almond, AKA Ratboy Or The Gay Rodent

I think he likes you. He really does- see how he looks at you. You know he wants you. Oooh baby, he wants to GET with you. Ok, is that gross or what? Some ratboy looking seductively at you and trying to act like Marilyn Monroe. It's just wrong on so many levels. What's with his hair- does he think he's a soccermom? He looks like a total freak from every angle, on every single frame of film. It's mostly the teeth that are most unbecoming for me, just too rodent-like. You notice when there's a girl around he throws his hands up. Of course, we don't need that to know he's gay. The gaydar needle is going off the richter scale here.
When I first heard the song (when I saw the video) I was pretty horrified. I think it was the video itself that put me off. I really couldn't understand that someone would actually release this without being shamed to death.
Now that I know the song well, I actually think it's fantastic. It's just the way it's slow and it has this slow buildup, and then a dramatic pouring out of emotion- Ok, it's kind of drama-queen-ish but for some reason if you listen to it a few times it just plain works. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that that I didn't like it at first. For that it stays at 4.75. However, I would give their cover song "Tainted Love" 5 stars, since it is a real classic.
I gave the video 5 stars for pure laughability. Not sure if it's technically trashy since it's quite unique and a heartfelt song, but on the other hand it is hilarious.
